A member of the mint family, peppermint is one of the oldest European herbs used in traditional medicine. Peppermint essential oil is extracted by steam distilling the leaves and topmost flowers of the Mentha piperitaplant, which is a hybrid species of spearmint and water mint. This versatile oil contains high concentrations of menthol (50-60%) and menthone (10-30%), which are known for their invigorating, energizing and cooling properties.

Directions for use:
Add 2–3 drops to your vaporizer or diffuser and enjoy the minty aroma of peppermint. To use this essential oil on your skin, mix a couple of drops with a carrier oil or a moisturizer before applying. To help clear your mind, apply 2 – 3 drops of diluted peppermint essential oil to your temples and the back of your neck.
For minty fresh breath, add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to your homemade baking soda toothpaste or mouthwash. For a relaxing bath, add a few drops directly to your bathwater. For a refreshing air spray, combine a few drops with distilled water in a spray bottle and spritz all around your home to freshen the air.
